Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.
It's a magical day--12/12/12!
Hope the spirit of the season is with you all.
So the question today is about Santa.
Do you remember what age you were when you stopped believing?
How did you come to this conclusion?
Do you remember the conversation with the adult that told you the truth?
What's a typical age to stop believing?
We have tried very hard to keep up with the big man's existence, unfortunately the boy child is no longer a believer. I've hid "Santa's" wrapping paper, disguised my handwriting, and put gifts under lock and key---yet, there comes a time that children stop believing.
The boy child is a believer, in general. He doesn't question things. He's a little on the naive side.
The girl child, however questions everything and everyone. I honestly think she is the one that put doubt in the boy child's thinking. She just asks too many good questions. She makes being her parents hard work! We have to listen and double check each other before we answer her. Thank goodness for silent text messaging!
As a child, I can remember "the talk"!
It's so bittersweet. Since this is the first year that Aiden has admitted to denial, we are trying hard to keep the spirit alive. Perhaps, I'm in denial and just keep going along saying Santa this and Santa that!
So share your story about your experience or your children's!
'Til tomorrow.....................
Carla
