Sunday Deals....shopping with Girl Child

We slept in this morning and missed church....Lord, please forgive us.

It was calling for rain, which doesn't make good painting weather. I sanded two dressers this morning but kept pondering paint colors.

The Girl Child was bored.

Enter...shopping!!!

Big Lots had 20% off everything today. And woooo, boy was it crowded. Big Lots has good deals on make up and snacks so off we headed.

Seriously the best ice tea ever:

Of course we headed to D. T. (Dollar Tree). I'm on a quest to find certain things others posted on Instagram. Of course The Dale D. T. didn't have those items but I left with some cutsie good deals.

Look how cute this is:

Right in my kitchen it went. Maybe it will inspire me at 3am paint sessions.
Lastly we hit new Froyo ninja for a treat!!

Home now. Looking for a Molly Ringwald movie...Sundays on couch are never complete without her! Guess what I found:

  Sixteen Candles!!!

Til next time...I'm off to climb laundry mountain during commercials....

Dollar, dollar, tree ya all..

Dollar Tree Review

I'm not going to lie, when I read from others online their love of this Dollar Tree deal I was more than skeptical. I'm a bit of a make up snob and like Sephora and I'm more of a chap stick girl. But come on these are $1.00...so worth a try!
Well I was impressed, more than impressed that they were $1.00

The mascara is smaller than a normal tube but it's perfect for my purse on days I'm running out the door late without make up on. It never smeared or flaked..win!

The lipstick. I bought in natural shine, because it seemed like best shade for me. It lasts well for the approximate two hours I had it on. No bleed, not dry, not too glossy. In fact mimics feel of chap stick. Once I got an ice tea at Mc D's (my favorite dollar deal!) there was lipstick on the straw, so I wiped it off my lips onto napkin. I was impressed the amount left. It didn't leave my lips stained or dry.

So worth a try!!

My next purchases were these:
These are flexible and I thought they'd be great for camping toiletries and one for each kiddo of mine to take their plethora of crap back and forth for car trips.
The other two:
Pink and purple for the girl child's room. They are bigger and more rigid. Perfect for her make up and nail polish.
Best thing:
They all stack together nicely!
Next purchase is:
Foil backsplash. I thought it would be a good thing behind my bathroom sink...not a good idea. It doesn't stick and the foil has weird fold creases in it. Since I can't just throw anything away I'll use it as drawer liners. But seriuosly save your money.
I got lots if ideas for things I wanted from Dollar Tree on Instagram. There's a whole  #dollartree posts.
I really wanted these:
But my Dollar Tree didn't have them. They are like EOS chap sticks but smaller!
I'm thrilled The 'Dale got a Dollar Tree. I'll now refer to it as 'D. T.' because I'm cool like that.
I'm not sure where the D. T. ranks over my love of D. G. (Dollar General) but my hub and the chillin's dislike the store, so I can roam the aisles mindlessly for at least an hour of peace and quiet.
The last advice on D. T. I have:
$1.00 steaks....Just. Don't. No.
Seriously, that can't end well for your stomach.

What do you like in The Dollar Tree...share so I can go back tomorrow!!!

Beachy blue side table

I must have been dreaming of days spent listening to waves and laughter, with sun and sand. This Annie Sloan duck egg blue is my favorite. It's a perfect pop of color to a neutral setting. Perfect as bedroom side table or next to your favorite chair. This is a solid, heavy little wooden table.
The vase is also available for sale but the 'ocean' sign is going right back on my mantle with my countdown to vacation at the beach!!

7/6/14 What I learned.

7/6/14

1. How many times in one day can I tell my kids to 'get the hell away from each other'?!
2. Camping is better with copious amounts of beer. The key is to remain intoxicated most of the weekend and it is good.

3. I'm never sure how we fit so much crap in my swagger wagon.
4. The said swagger took $8.00 in quarters this week to vacuum out because I can't find our shop vac.
5. Sleeping on an air mattress does nothing for my back. And don't drink and take a muscle relaxer. It's like I turn to mush.
6. Electric surges suck. Dealing with no fridge sucks even more. Stupid electric company.
7. I'm a total sucker for any tabloid with Kate plus 8 drama.
8. I'm sick of road construction/water fixes, general chaos on streets in the 'Dale. And potholes. I'm sending the bill for my new shocks and struts to the township.
9. Ball caps are my new wardrobe accessory. I love them.

That's all for the week. My goal for this week is to paint, paint, paint. I need to get my booth restocked. And suntan...I'm thinking fat looks better tanned and my reunions coming up!! Have a good one

6/29/14 what I learned

6/29/14

1. I hate whistling. It gives me a headache. My family whistles constantly.
2. A new chia growing is gross. Looks like worms.
3. I just can't do True Blood tv show anymore. I'm done. Done. Done.
4. Tis the season of shaving. I'm a little sick of it. Hairy needs to come back in.
5. I went to a b-day party at the reunion pavilion at Mammoth Park. This is the first year of no reunion. I left and cried because I miss it. Anyone in the Shaw fam want to help me do one next year?
6. I've read three books in two days. I'm becoming one of those people!! I've also hoarding magazines to take camping.

7. My kid were forced to go to a fair. I may (or may not...I'll never admit it!) dropped the 'f' bomb en route to the fair and insisted they will like it and have a good time. They complained the whole time. What kids don't like fair food?

That's all...what have you learned?! Share!!

What I learned. 6/22/14

6/22/14

1. If a day ends and my kids aren't on a tv show on Mtv or TLC I think that translates to I'm doing a good job.
2. MCM--man crush Monday, WBW--way back Wednesday or a WCW-Women Crush Wednesday, TBT--throw back Thursday, FBF--flashback Friday:    CHT---Carla hates these!!!!
3. Taking my daughter to the flea market costs me way too much money.
4. The douche bags who get monster energy drink tattoo's are going to look as stupid in a few years as those with Spuds Mackenzie tattoos now.
5. Those "Hair club for men" commercials make the men seem like the world really opens up for them when they get hair.
6. So teen boys cutting off their nipples is a thing now? Gross
7. It's all fun & games at the Father's Day family picnic until punches get thrown.

That's it so far this summer. I'm not trying to learn a lot!!
'til next time...
